Sock monkey

Anyone who knows me will tell you I like monkeys. Although I'm pretty sure most people like monkeys. I mean, what's not to like? Other than the bad odor and poo throwing that is. Ok, monkeys in real life aren't all that fun and cute and having one in your house as a pet probably wouldn't be a good idea, but I still like monkey things. I have grown quite a collection of monkeys over the years and this is the latest addition. My sister gave me this sock monkey last year and it sits proudly on my desk. That's not it's finally destination in the office but it landed there initially and hasn't moved since. Enjoy the view while you can monkey, soon you may find yourself on a shelf somewhere soon.

I can't shake him!

I recently mounted my prized Tie Fighter to the ceiling in the office. Katie's folks got it for me last Christmas and I'm happy to finally have it out of the package and flying high. Of course it's right over the computer so I do hope it's mounted properly... we'll see. You may notice this is the second Star Wars related item I've featured from my office. I should point out that it won't be the last. As you can tell I like Star Wars. But don't fret, there are a few non-Star Wars items around here as well. I just have to find them first.

Roger that, General!

As I sit here looking around my office I realized I've got a ton of toys. Well, mostly toys. There's also posters, statues, and other collectible type things. But regardless, I'm surrounded by stuff. So I thought it'd be fun to add an "Office Accoutrements" category. These will be short updates that showcase another useless item in my collection of office crap. Something I figured you'd all enjoy. Mostly it's an excuse to be able to update quickly when I have nothing interesting to say.

Here we have a lovely item I received this past Christmas from my parents. This is my working Clone Trooper helmet with voice tracks from the series as well as a voice changer so I can make any number of trooper call outs. Believe it or not, it actually fits over my giant head and is quite comfortable. It included a very sophisticated adjustable head strap within the helmet as well as mic adjustments to make it all fit just right. I was impressed. Right now I store it on the shelf just below the one holding my Darth Vader helmet which you will no doubt see in future posts.

Oh, and for those of you paying particular attention to this photo you'll notice a certain rare poster in the background. Can any of you accurately identify the name of the movie advertised on said poster?
